Big Boss of Twitter; Elon Musk announced plans for Twitter Inc. to bill commercial and government users. However, the would-be new owner of the social media company made sure Twitter would not charge ordinary users.
“Twitter will always be free for casual users but may charge for commercial and government users,”
Musk said in a tweet.
The announcement comes as the world’s richest people seek to increase the reach of social media platforms to most Americans.
So far, Twitter has not provided any response on this issue. Musk who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tesla Inc. previously suggested some changes on Twitter last month.
According to Musk, he wants to improve the platform with new features that make algorithms that prioritize certain tweaks, publicly accessible.
Last month, before signing the deal with Twitter, Musk also proposed some changes to the premium subscription service Twitter Blue including lowering its price.
The tycoon signed an agreement to buy Twitter for a cash payment of $44 billion and will see a change in ownership of the social media platform.
