Not only coronary heart disease, but MVD and broken heart syndrome can also be the types of heart disease in women. Now I’m going to give some facts about heart disease in women. If you look at the statistics, it is shown that heart disease caused more death each year than b breast cancer and lung cancer combined. The percentage of women die from heart attacks in one year is greater than men. Now, this fact is not racist but through research, it is known that the death rate to heart disease of African-American is greater than the white women. Diabetes also a risk factor for heart disease that can occur to women since women love to eat sweets.
Other facts are: even if your cholesterol and blood pressure are normal, you’ll still have to worry about having a heart attack. It can happen when family history is involved. If your fame a family history of heart disease you could get a heart attack even if your blood pressure and cholesterol are normal. Unlike many women believe estrogen and other hormones cannot protect them from heart disease.
When women got pregnant they will have preeclampsia or gestational diabetes. These can be the risk factors for heart disease later in life. The preeclampsia could make women have more risk of heart disease and gestational diabetes could lead to obesity which is the risk factor for heart disease.
Women get a stomachache, nausea, vomiting, and unexplained fatigue and sweating easily. These are all the sign of heart disease in women that needs to be noticed. Another wrong belief in women is that the hot flash. They usually think the hot flash as the symptoms of menopause and not the heart attack, but the truth is that the hot flash is also the sign of the certain cardiac condition.
Women’s Risk of Heart Disease Rise with Age
When women get old, they will come to a stage of menopause. As it nears, the body will produce less estrogen that causing the changes in menstrual cycle and other physical changes. A menopause, which occurs naturally between ages 45-55, women will have a hot flash, emotional changes, and sweats at night and dryness in the vagina. The loss of estrogen can have caused women to get the higher risk of heart disease.
The other factors factor that happen in menopause stage which cause the risk of heart disease include: the walls of the blood vessels will change and make it more likely for the blood cloth or plaque to form, the levels of blood also change when you are hit the menopause stage, fibrinogen, which the levels increase when women get menopause, make the blood clot to form easily.
To reduce the risk of heart disease, women need to do several things such as: quit smoking if you do, lose weight, exercise more often, follow a low saturated fat diet, and treat or control the medical conditions such as diabetes and high cholesterol as well blood pressure.
